Title: His compassions fail not – They are new Every Morning
Text: Lamentations 3:22-23 KJV
“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”

INTRODUCTION:
Just as God gave Israel fresh manna every day in the wilderness, God gives us fresh compassion every morning.
We can’t live on yesterday’s manna. We must gather God’s mercies daily.
Jeremiah said: “This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope…” — Lamentations 3:21 KJV
When we recall His mercies, hope is renewed for the day.

I. WE MUST GATHER GOD’S MERCIES DAILY
A. Like manna, God’s compassion is daily
God didn’t give Israel a month’s supply. He gave just enough for each day.
His mercies work the same way — fresh every morning. “…they are new every morning” — Lamentations 3:23 KJV

B. What happens when we don’t gather it
When we fail to reflect on His mercies, they become “stale” to us. In today’s age, we wake up to notifications, bills, and bad news. It’s easy to scroll before we pray.
The result: we become spiritually dry, insensitive, and discouraged.

C. The remedy: Recall
“This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope…” — Lamentations 3:21 KJV. Hope comes when we intentionally remember God’s faithfulness.

II. GOD NEVER GETS USED TO OUR NEED
A. His eye never grows blind
We get used to things — the same building, the same blessing. We stop noticing. But God never does. His compassions are new because He never becomes accustomed to our need.

B. The God who sees
Hagar was alone in the wilderness with her newborn. Afraid and cast out. “…she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me.” — Genesis 16:13 KJV
The same God who saw Hagar sees you today. He sees the anxiety, the unpaid bill, the sick loved one, the silent prayer you cried last night.

C. He sees it as if for the first time
God’s love doesn’t dull. His mercy doesn’t get old. Every morning He looks at us with fresh compassion.

III. DON’T LET GOD’S FAITHFULNESS BECOME FAMILIAR
A. The danger of familiarity
“His compassions fail not.” — Lamentations 3:22 KJV. But our remembering often does. We treat His mercy like background noise — like traffic we drive past daily.

2. We need fresh eyes daily
Ask the Lord: “Lord, help me see Your mercies today.” Notice: the breath in your lungs, food on the table, strength to rise, peace in the middle of stress, a friend’s text, a sunset.
That’s all compassion. That’s all faithfulness.

C. Great is His faithfulness
“…great is thy faithfulness.” — Lamentations 3:23 KJV. Not “was” or “will be” — but IS. Right now. This morning.

CONCLUSION:
Before you check your phone today, check your heart. Before you worry about tomorrow, thank Him for today.

Name one mercy. Thank Him for one compassion. Gather your fresh manna.
