After Jesus Christ’s ascension, Peter assumed leadership of the church, and this chapter features the first Christian sermon. Many individuals came to believe in Jesus as their personal Saviour and Lord. Following Peter’s message, those listening asked, as the Bible records, “𝑵𝒐𝒘 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔, 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅 𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝑷𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒍𝒆𝒔, 𝑴𝒆𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒆𝒏, 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒘𝒆 𝒅𝒐?” – 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝟐:𝟑𝟕 𝐊𝐉𝐕.
Thanks be to God for the impactful message that touched hearts. Today, our focus is on the phrase “one accord.” While Peter’s preaching led to many being saved, the surrounding people also played a key part. They were in agreement with Peter—”one accord” means being united. Their support and testimony strengthened Peter’s message as he preached.

I recall watching a basketball game where LeBron James, often regarded as one of the top players of his time, played a crucial role. During the championship against the Golden State Warriors, a miscommunication between him and a teammate occurred in the final seconds. This confusion cost them the win, causing them to lose both the match and the championship.
In the church, a single misunderstanding can damage the entire body of Christ. Brethren, it’s crucial to recognize the value of good communication. Effective communication can preserve, repair, and restore the organization when it’s damaged. Losing our unity diminishes our impact as witnesses for Christ. Let us heed the words of the Psalmist: “𝑩𝒆𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒅, 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒊𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒘𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒊𝒏 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚!” – 𝐏𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐦 𝟏𝟑𝟑:𝟏 𝐊𝐉𝐕
