Today’s devotion reminds us of the importance of the Gospel. The Lord desires that, through the preaching of the Gospel, people may come to accept Him as their Saviour, and the mandate has been given to you and me, who have experienced God’s amazing grace.

The cross doesn’t just condemn sin — it calls sinners. The cross doesn’t just condemn sin — it calls sinners. The call isn’t a speech. It’s a SPECTACLE. “𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐩” 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝟑 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: 🅻🅾🆅🅴 𝕵𝖔𝖍𝖓 𝟑:𝟏𝟔, 🆂🆄🅱🆂🆃🅸🆃🆄🆃🅸🅾🅽 𝟐 𝕮𝖔𝖗𝖎𝖓𝖙𝖍𝖎𝖆𝖓𝖘 𝟓:𝟐𝟏, 🆅🅸🅲🆃🅾🆁🆈 𝕮𝖔𝖑𝖔𝖘𝖘𝖎𝖆𝖓𝖘 𝟐:𝟏𝟓. People aren’t drawn to theory. They’re drawn to blood. The cross calls because the Crucified Christ is on display. “The people answered him… how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?”

 

Most of the time, many Christians act like people in Jesus’ time. They might say they understand the law, but they are unaware of the truth! They only say they’ve heard about it, not that they’ve read about Christ. Their second-hand Bible knowledge has caused a mistaken belief. They thought the Messiah would never die. It’s evident they didn’t recognize Jesus as the Son of Man.

 

Similarly, when we shared the truth about the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, many of our relatives would respond with, “yeah I’ve heard that before,” “yeah I read that before,” or even say, “I know what you are talking about.” They heard “Christ abideth forever” but not “Christ must die first”. Their theology clashed with His mission. Confusion makes people question the Caller instead of coming to the call. Confusion doesn’t cancel the call. It just proves we need the Spirit to understand the cross.

 

We can learn from Lord Jesus Christ, who addressed these people similarly. Jesus didn’t argue; He simply told them that His time on earth was limited and they would soon lose their limited understanding of God’s Word. A key principle here is that truth is revealed as we seek it. Essentially, you only learn what you want to know. If you choose to stop learning, your knowledge will stagnate. It’s like a man walking in darkness — he may keep moving, but he won’t know where he’s going.

 

The main message is clear: we must stay committed to sharing the truth of Christ’s Gospel. Even if some do not accept our message, God’s will is for us to continue boldly proclaiming. The term “lifted up” refers to Jesus Christ’s crucifixion and His later glorification. On the cross, Jesus demonstrated His deep love for us.

 

Christ’s cross attracts all people to Him, but not everyone accepts. We’re encouraged to seek the Lord, and He enables us to do so, yet many refuse His invitation. So, brothers and sisters, if you’ve felt the power of God’s salvation through your faith in the Gospel, we are called to go and tell the world that Jesus SAVED!
